Pregnancy-Associated Mortality in New York City, 2016 - 2020

This report was produced by the Maternal Mortality Review Committee of the New York City Health Department.

This report offers a comprehensive analysis of pregnancy-associated mortality spanning from 2016 to 2022, as well as recommendations from NYC's Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC).

The report explores the vital connection between birth care and the family policing system, and points to prevention of family separation as a strategy that can save the lives of birthing and parenting people.
