Movement for Family Power: Family Policing: The Modern-Day Auction Block

This event is hosted by Movement for Family Power.

For centuries, the state has used family separation as a tool to control, punish, and commodify Black families—and this violence continues. The family policing system is the modern-day auction block, profiting off of the separation and destabilization of Black families.

This Black History Month, join us for a dialogue on family policing, its anti-Black roots, and the Black-led movement for abolition featuring:

  • Amanda Wallace, Executive Director of Operation Stop CPS

  • Erin Miles-Cloud, Senior Attorney of Civil Rights Corps & Co-Founder of MFP

  • Keshia Adeniyi-Dorsey, Founding Attorney of K.Adeniyi Law

  • Zaira Campos, Founder of Adoptees Crossing Lines
